Language Immersion

IST believes that early language immersion in a second language promotes better cognitive abilities, supports multiculturalism and acceptance of others for a better future together. Language immersion is a key aspect of the school.

Cultural Understanding

IST believes that the key to becoming a global citizen is to learn about other cultures, be accepting of the differences they find and tolerant to the changing world with a global view. The development of knowledge and tolerance are key aspects in the school delivered through teaching and activities.

Leadership

IST knows leadership is an “action” word, and only practical leadership opportunities can develop the skill. To be a successful citizen who positively contributes to society and who can challenge the things that are wrong within that society requires a person whose personal leadership and teamwork are built on knowledge and understanding of what is required to lead themselves and others through life. The opportunity to lead at all levels and in many contexts is essential to the student and the school.

Character Development

The IST mission identifies character development in aspects such as self-confidence, integrity, communication and personal goals setting which necessitates developing a well-rounded student who is capable of global integration and success. The understanding, learning and application of these characteristics are delivered through curricular and extracurricular activities.
